It’s Time To Secure Our Border
Last week, President Biden announced that the Title 42 public health order at the southern border will be lifted on May 23, 2022. We are already witnessing record-high numbers of illegal immigrants crossing our border. This decision will cause absolute mayhem on our southern border!

President Biden and Democrats removed the last line of defense at our Southern Border with the rescinding of Title 42. Since his first day in office, Biden has enacted reckless border policies that signal to the rest of the world that our border is open. The flood of illegal immigrants entering our border communities is a danger to our national health and security and it will only increase with the removal of Title 42.
This week, I attended a Border Security Caucus meeting with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to discuss the chaos at our southern border and the Biden Administration’s decision to end Title 42.
I joined House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and my Republican colleagues for a briefing from the National Border Patrol Council about Title 42 and the border. In the briefing, I asked about how the Biden Administration is exacerbating sex trafficking through their open border policies.
President Biden’s plan for our border is to keep it open. By revoking Title 42, our nation will see a surge in sex, human, and drug trafficking, along with an unprecedented number of illegal immigrant encounters. Democrats continue to push open border policies and block attempts to secure our border. On the House Floor this week, I requested a vote on Congresswoman Yvette Herrell’s (R-NM-02) PAUSE Act, which requires Title 42 to remain in place. Unfortunately, Democrats blocked this request.
