I wanted to take a minute to explain what this race means for our Senate majority and our country.

Right now, the Senate is split 50-50, and Mitch McConnell is laser-focused on New Hampshire. Losing this seat means losing our narrow Senate majority.

If Republicans take control, they will try to gut the Affordable Care Act, which would strip millions of Americans of their health coverage. 1,017 votes in New Hampshire won this seat in the Senate—allowing me to cast a deciding vote to save the ACA in 2017. And this November, it's going to come down to the Granite State again to save health care protections for millions.

But that's not all that's on the line: If Mitch McConnell becomes the majority leader, he won't allow President Biden to fill a potential Supreme Court vacancy. And Lindsey Graham said this week that if the GOP controlled the Senate, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson wouldn't have even received a hearing. With Donald Trump’s three ultra-conservative justices already skewing the balance of the Court, that’s not a chance we can afford to take.

I hate asking for money, but I really need your help. If you can, please chip in $3 today.

I promise I wouldn’t ask if the stakes weren’t so high.

With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
