There is nothing humane or compassionate about enabling illegal drug use. In fact, Canada has tried offering these safe havens for heroin and narcotics, and while overdose deaths didn’t go down, dangerous debris laying around on the streets including crack pipes and needles went up. Crime did too.
America’s addiction crisis demands more effective resources for treatment and prevention – not more locations in our communities for individuals to use deadly drugs, funded by your hard-earned tax dollars.
