I never thought I’d get the chance to watch the first Democratic debate in-person. 
 
But thanks to Secretary Castro, I did. (Check out the picture of us below!) 
 
Meeting him was very special. He and his team made me feel like I was part of the family, the -- dare I say -- squad!

As a Mexican-American, it was so special to see someone like Julián up on that Presidential debate stage. 
 
And as a proud Democrat, it was incredible to have a front row seat and watch candidates like him fight for me and my rights. 
 
Julián is a historic candidate. 
 
This is a historic election. 
 
And this was a historic opportunity for me.
