There's a lot going on in Mike's campaign to keep the 49th blue, so we wanted to take a moment and give you the latest directly from HQ. Some of these updates are a bit concerning, but it's important that you're kept in the loop:

• Last week, House Democrats confirmed they will be "centering their defensive efforts" on Mike's district here in Southern California. This is a strong signal that our race will be highly competitive.


• Nonpartisan elections forecasters at The Cook Political Report just issued a report suggesting that Democrats could be on pace to lose 15-25 House seats. CA-49 is one of the districts Kevin McCarthy and company are targeting.


• Kevin McCarthy just announced a record-shattering $31 million fundraising haul last quarter. You can bet a huge chunk of that is headed our way in the form of attack ads.


• Team Levin is ramping up our field efforts. We have new offices in Laguna Niguel and Carlsbad, and are running a robust voter contact program, but we still need support fully funding our efforts.
