Surrey Heath News
Ash Ranges update: In my previous newsletter, I mentioned that I had written again to request information on what progress is being made with the DIO's plans to improve access to the Ranges. I have now received a response, which you can find here.
Surrey Heath Rail Services: On 23 March, I met representatives from Network Rail and South Western Railway to raise improvements to rail services in Surrey Heath. You can read my update on my Facebook page, here.
Great British Spring Clean: It was a huge pleasure to join Philippa Anderson, Deputy Chair of Keep Britain Tidy and a wonderful local activist, in Chobham last month. Together with a fantastic group of volunteers, we took part in a litter pick for the Great British Spring Clean. The pandemic highlighted the importance of clean green spaces for both our physical and mental wellbeing. Every act to protect the environment, no matter how small, makes a big difference. So I was delighted to support Keep Britain Tidy in bringing together volunteers for the seventh year of the Great British Spring Clean.
St Lawrence C of E Primary School visit: I had so much fun speaking to the children at St Lawrence C of E Primary School in March, and it was encouraging to hear how passionate so many of them are about environmental and climate issues. You can find out more about my visit here.
North Hill Nurseries visit: Last month, I visited North Hill Nurseries in Chobham to discuss what support the Government can offer to businesses in the horticulture industry. You can find pictures of my visit here.
Culture Recovery Fund: I am delighted that Surrey Heath’s residents are benefiting from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, and you can learn more here.
Royal Mail update: I know that many constituents in and around Camberley are still experiencing sporadic and infrequent deliveries from the Royal Mail. I am continuing to raise this issue, and hope to provide a further update in the near future. In the meantime, if you are experiencing disruption to your mail deliveries, please let me know by emailing [email protected] with your full postal address.
