Friend — It’s been a busy November for us. From school walkouts across the country to bringing our fight to the steps of the Supreme Court, we have been busy turning up the heat on all levels when it comes to the pursuit of justice and freedom for our people.

We wanted to take a moment to check in, remind you of 3 important facts about what comes next with regard to the DACA program, and let you know how you can help us be ready for the next time we need to spring into action.

So, first: where do we go from here?

  1. We don’t expect to have a decision from the Supreme Court any time soon, but it will most likely happen between January and June of 2020. With such a large window of time where it could happen — we’ve got to be ready for anything!

  2. If you are a DACA recipient, you can and should renew your DACA. If you are a DACA recipient and your DACA expires before the end of 2020, you should RENEW as soon as possible.

  3. Our fight is not over! We need to be prepared for whatever comes next.

The best way you can help us accomplish #3 is by contributing to our DACA Rapid Response Fund right now. We need to be ready to mobilize and organize as soon as a decision comes down.

That means buses for volunteers and organizers, funds for reserving permits and event spaces, and all kinds of other resources will be needed as soon as possible. We can’t fight back against white supremacy, and we can’t fight to end injustices against our people without your help.

We’re setting a $100,000 DACA Rapid Response Fund goal before the end of the year is over. That’s just 41 days! But I know our team can do it because we have before. So, will you chip in $1, $7, or any amount you can toward our $100,000 goal?

These goals aren’t arbitrary, team — they’re reality. To do the work we do, to empower our members and chapters nationwide to advocate for our communities, and to send a message of strength and solidarity like we did on November 12th, we need to hit our goals.

We depend on grassroots activists to keep our movement strong. Every contribution, no matter the amount, adds a little bit of flex to our team.

Thanks for being a critical part of our work,

Juanita from United We Dream Action
