Impeachment hearings are a daily feast

of explosive & conclusive testimony,

as Congress plays its Constitutional role

... and Republicans play juvenile games

of distraction, dismissiveness & denial.

From the noble Masha Yovaoavitch

to the ernest Alexander Vindman

to the smarmy Gordon Sondland,

witnesses face Trump's twitter wrath

for telling tales our nation needs to hear.

In Congress & on the debate stage,

Democrats assert nobody's above the law.

From hearings to Fox to the White House,

GOP prove all of them are beneath contempt.

Impeachment & elections offer a sign

our Republic can work to right wrongs.

But Republicans are Republican'ts—

they can't hold Trump accountable

and can't defend the Constitution.

Let's prove that the Republic can,

even when Republicans can't.

Hearings! Debates! You need a drink!

And the company of kindred spirits

at your local progressive social club.
