Issue 14

My fellow Republicans,

Next week, we have a steady stream of educational opportunities on a variety of subjects, and from several sources. The county is training election workers, and there are online classes available from the Texas Secretary of State’s office. Here at our headquarters we are training activists to use a smartphone app called Campaign Sidekick. As always, we want to prioritize the protection of our election process, and the Bexar County Election Integrity team is training poll watchers again on Saturday and on Thursday.

Our Party Runoff is May 24, but we want to be active in every way possible in the May 7 non-partisan bond election. (Early Voting starts in three weeks on April 25!) Every hour spent on the May 7 election, whether it’s campaigning for Republicans running for city office, spreading the word about bonds and taxes or helping conduct the election as a paid election worker, is part of a dress rehearsal for the Republican Primary Runoff and, even more importantly, next November.

When you are contacting voters about either of these two elections, promote both. If you’re campaigning for Adam Salyer for Universal City Mayor, you should remind voters that there is a second election later in May. If you are out working for a favorite candidate in the May 24 Runoff, be sure to tell voters about the bonds and the State Constitutional amendments on May 7.

Please join me in congratulating former Republican Party of Bexar County Vice-Chair Anna Maria Farias, who was appointed by Governor Abbott, and in a small ceremony this afternoon at our headquarters. Ms. Farias was sworn in by Texas Supreme Court Justice Evan Young as a board member of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
