John – want more proof that the fight for fair redistricting is NOT over?
Yup. In Florida, extremist Governor Ron DeSantis wasn’t satisfied with the GOP legislature’s gerrymandered map. He vetoed it in an effort to get an even worse gerrymander that would eliminate one of Florida’s two majority-Black congressional districts!
And in Ohio, the GOP-controlled redistricting commission keeps drawing manipulated state legislative maps that the state supreme court has now struck down three times, leading fair-map advocates to suggest the commission be held in contempt of court.
A few months ago, Politico warned that Republicans were considering more “ruthless” redistricting – and they were right. But it’s not too late to fight back!
Our teams are working in states like Florida and Ohio to stop the GOP from gerrymandering and hold them accountable if they do. Things are moving very quickly all over the country, though, so if you’ve been waiting to make a donation, now is the time! Will you pitch in?
