With this confirmation, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is THE first Black woman to serve on the nation's highest court in all of American history.

She is an exceptionally well-qualified jurist who has more judicial experience than 43 of the last 58 justices to take the bench (including 4 current justices), and she will be the first public defender to serve on the Supreme Court.
