Mariannette Miller-Meeks

This week, we endorsed Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks for
reelection to the U.S. House to represent Iowa's 1st Congressional
District. Congresswoman Miller-Meeks will never quit fighting for the
people of Iowa.

Chris Jacobs

Last week, the GOPAC Election Fund shared their support of Congressman
Chris Jacobs' reelection campaign to Congress, he is now running in New
York's 24th Congressional District. Jacobs' old district, New York CD-27
was eliminated as a result of redistricting. His new district, CD-24, is
R+25. The primary will be held on June 28th.

REDISTRICTING

Mississippi

Both chambers in Mississippi's Republican-run legislature have approved new
legislative maps, and because they were adopted by means of a joint
resolution rather than as tradition legislation, they are now law without
any action from Republican Governor Tate Reeves.

Races to Watch:

WV-02

As a result of redistricting, Republican U.S. Representatives David
McKinley (WV-1) and Alex Mooney (WV-2) are running for reelection in the
same district. McKinley was elected to represent District 1 in 2010 and has
the endorsement of Governor Jim Justice (R) and GOPAC Election Fund.
McKinley has criticized Mooney for previously holding office in Maryland
and running unsuccessful campaigns in both Maryland and New Hampshire. The
Republican primary will be held on May 10.

On largely party line votes, both chambers on Wednesday overrode Democratic
Gov. John Bel Edwards' veto of a congressional redistricting bill, marking
the first time in 31 years legislators refused to accept a gubernatorial
refusal of a bill they had passed.
