Dear John,
Last week, I proudly voted for the Affordable Insulin Now Act, a piece of bipartisan legislation to cap families’ out-of-pocket costs for insulin at $35/month. This bill ensures vital and affordable access to life-saving medication for the more than 37 million people in the U.S. who have diabetes.
This medicine was discovered and developed 100 years ago, and no new research is necessary. It’s time that we stop the pharmaceutical companies from price-gouging insulin to further deepen their own pockets and support the millions of individuals who rely on insulin to maintain their health and well-being.
