Abortion could soon be illegal in Oklahoma—and the Republican playbook of attacking reproductive rights in courtrooms and state legislatures around the country is running full steam ahead.
We’re barreling towards a world in which Roe v. Wade is swept aside, and Democratic AGs could be one of our last lines of defense.
Oklahoma joins Texas, Arkansas, and Alabama as the latest state to pass near-total bans on abortion. And we’re seeing every indication that more overly restrictive anti-choice laws are coming across the country. Oklahoma Republican AG John O’Connor has been a vocal supporter of overturning Roe v. Wade for years.
Dem AGs are looking to build a country where all people feel safe, included, and have access to the care they need. Republican officials are trying to divide us by making it more difficult and less safe to access reproductive care. DAGA supports pro-choice Dem AGs because we believe in a fairer, safer country. We must do better.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
