Thanks to a lawsuit filed by Kansas City, the State of Illinois and Everytown for Gun Safety, gun manufacturer J.A. Industries — whose trafficked guns have been traced back to murders and shootings in our city — has officially lost its firearms license.

FOX 4 KC: “After Kansas City sues, ATF issues notice revoking gun manufacturer’s license” -Kansas City StarJ.A. Industries — formerly Jimenez Arms — has caused significant harm to Kansas City. By creating a trafficking ring that provided guns to known felons, the gun manufacturer caused a spike in homicides, violent crime and shootings in our community.

This decision is an important one for Kansas City, for the State of Missouri, and for our country.

But our work doesn’t stop here.

Reducing gun violence in our community — keeping fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters alive — has been and will remain Mayor Q’s top priority.

We will continue holding irresponsible gun manufacturers accountable, and we will continue seeking municipal solutions to curb gun violence.
