Every time a small business closes, a community loses a gathering place.

Friend,

Yesterday, the House passed a bill to help small businesses recover from the pandemic.

Why it matters: Small businesses that bring people together in person – like bars, restaurants, and hotels – have been hit especially hard the last two years. According to the Independent Restaurant Coalition, at least 90,000 restaurants and bars have closed. Every time one closes, a community loses a gathering place and a family loses a source of livelihood.

Restaurants, bars, and other small businesses need help to recover from the pandemic. Will you sign our petition urging the Senate to pass the House's bill to deliver relief to hard-hit small businesses?

A little history: Last year, Congress funded a round of relief for small businesses to help them weather the pandemic.

The problem: There weren’t enough funds to meet demand. Almost 300,000 restaurants and bars applied for assistance; only one-third of them got it. Today, most of those businesses say that without relief, they will close for good.

The solution: The bill the House passed yesterday will give more small businesses a fair shot at recovering from the pandemic.

But first, it needs to pass the Senate. Add your name today to urge the Senate to pass this bill and support the small businesses that make our communities great.

Thanks,

The DeanTeam
