Dear Friend,

The Trump impeachment hearings have revealed one bombshell after another,
with long-serving diplomats coming forward to help uncover Trump’s abuses
of power.

And leading the defense of Trump is Devin Nunes, Trump's #1 stooge in
Congress, pushing bizarre claims about Democrats trying to get "nude
pictures of Trump" and other Fox News conspiracy theories.(1)

He's become such a disgrace that he's in serious danger of losing
reelection even in his red district. Courage Campaign helped flip 7 seats
from red to blue in 2018, and we're preparing to launch a major expansion
of one of the most effective tactics for getting out the vote in 2020:
text messaging.

Here's why text messaging is so effective: More and more people are
screening their calls, and young people especially don't have landlines.
Worse yet, 80% of emails are never even opened. But 90% of text messages
are read within five minutes -- allowing us to turn out the voters we need
to end Devin Nunes' career for good.

Nunes’ opening statement was so full of lies, so blatantly misleading, and
so ridiculously pandering to Trump that it has gone viral on Twitter.(2)

He called the hearings “a carefully orchestrated media smear campaign" --
entirely ignoring lifelong civil servants’ testimony that they had
firsthand knowledge of Trump threatening to withhold aid to Ukraine if the
country’s president didn’t force an investigation into former Vice
President Joe Biden’s son.(3)

He did nothing to find out if Trump actually committed the crime he has
been accused of. He kept referencing Hillary Clinton and unproved bad
actions from her 2016 campaign, ignoring entirely how Trump has abused
power as the president.(4)

Perhaps worst of all, Nunes has tried to use his position on the House
Intelligence Committee to reveal the name of the whistleblower who alerted
Congress to the threats against Ukraine -- which would directly endanger
their life.(5)

Now Nunes is in the public eye for his treasonous behavior, and we need to
take full advantage. We're expanding our super-effective get out the vote
texting program to help defeat Devin Nunes. Will you chip in?
