News from Representative Allred

April 8, 2022

Dear Friend,

As your Congressman, working to support the North Texas economy is one of my top priorities and this week, I proudly voted to bring additional relief to local restaurants and other hard hit small businesses so that we can continue our strong economic recovery. The bipartisan Relief for Restaurants and Other Hard Hit Small Businesses Act will replenish pandemic relief funds for North Texas restaurants and establish a new program supporting other small businesses impacted by the pandemic.

Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and at the height of the pandemic I helped pass the American Rescue Plan, which created the Restaurant Revitalization Fund that distributed more than $1.6 billion as a lifeline to Texas restaurants. This week’s legislation builds on that program and extends assistance to restaurants, venues and other hard hit small businesses who missed out on earlier rounds of funding and other small businesses that were previously ineligible.

With bipartisan support in the Senate, I will keep working until we get this done, and I will keep fighting for our small businesses as our region continues to recover.

My team is here to help connect you with resources. For any questions and assistance, including for those who have previously applied for relief through an SBA program, please call my office at (972) 972-7949. It’s an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised, and to fight for the small businesses that power our communities.

Sincerely,
