To Give Californians Real Relief from High Gas Prices, Sacramento Must Legislate Energy Prosperity

As of April 5, average state gas prices in California were $5.84 per gallon for regular, according to AAA, which were the nation’s highest average gas prices.

Previously on Right by the Bay, we wrote about the one-upmanship between Democrats and Republicans in the State Legislature – debating dueling proposals to give Californians relief from climbing gas prices.


California Leadership: Fighting or Fostering the Fentanyl Epidemic?

Fentanyl is a growing crisis across California. Local elected officials and police departments are going to war against this epidemic to try and save lives, but is the state assisting in this effort or are permissive policies possibly fostering the use of fentanyl.

Fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Illicit fentanyl can be added to other drugs to make them cheaper, more powerful, and more addictive and when mixed, increases the likelihood of a fatal interaction.


Can California Make Room for Home-Based Businesses?

According to a recent report by the Public Policy Institute of California, a startling one-in-four Californians now works remotely, with one-in-seven blending office and home-based work. And if you ask Californians what they prefer, a third say they would like to stay fully remote next year, while a quarter say they would like a hybrid arrangement. Admittedly, these figures are nowhere near what they were at the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, and don’t bode well for the “death of the city” doomsayers. But they do indicate that a lot of remote work is here to stay.
