“There is nothing new under the sun but there are new suns.” - Octavia Butler

In true Aries fashion, Spring opens the way for new suns and new beginnings. As we shake off the frost of Detroit’s long winter, we’re asking ourselves: what do we need to decompose to make way for new growth? What seeds are we planting for the seasons ahead? And, what new suns can we orbit together? Allied Media Projects welcomes the warmth of spring alongside our incoming Co-Executive Directors, MARS Marshall and Toni Moceri, as they lead Allied Media Projects into our next chapter of sustaining and amplifying media for liberation.

AMP's Communications Manager, Molly, sat down for an interview with MARS and Toni to discuss what is bringing them life-affirming joy, what media is inspiring them right now, and their most liberatory visions for AMP.

Registration for AMC 2022 is officially open! AMC will return virtually and in-person for residents of Detroit and will feature hands-on workshops, meet-ups for community building, and epic sessions of strategizing and dreaming alongside a 4-night festival (AMC@NIGHT) of performance art, film, food, and life-changing dance parties.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their sessions to AMC2022. We had over 300 submissions and are deeply grateful to all the visionary organizers and media makers who are shaping the world. “When the rest of the world is saying you’re dead... we say come here and learn how to live.” -Mama Sandra

It is with great grief that we honor the transition of our beloved elder, Mama Sandra. Mama Sandra played a critical role in the early days of AMC in Detroit and hosted countless delegations of AMC participants throughout the years at the Hush House Black Community Museum and Leadership Training Institute for Human Rights.

In honor of Mama Sandra, the community has started a meal train to support Baba Charles (her beloved) and Sandra’s families with meals to nourish their spirit during this difficult time.

Please considering sending food or donations ([link removed]) to Mama Sandra's family.
