Join panelists Rob Richie, President and CEO of FairVote, Rebecca Chavez-Houck, Community Engagement Consultant and Former Utah State Legislator, and Danielle Allen, co-chair of the Academy’s Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship for a discussion of proportional voting systems. Can we move beyond the winner-take-all electoral system used at the federal and state levels in the United States to enable adoption of proportional voting systems? What would be the impact of proportional voting in the United States, and what will it take to enact it?

On March 23rd, the Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE) Civic Language Perception's Project ([link removed]) released new survey data showing how Americans from different races, religions, regions, ages, political ideologies, and more view the language of civic engagement and democracy. MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE RECEIVES $25 MILLION GRANT INSPIRED BY OUR COMMON PURPOSE
Middlebury College received a $25 million grant, the largest programmatic grant in its history, to support students, staff, and faculty in innovative conflict transformation initiatives. This anonymous grant will create the Kathryn Wasserman Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation and will deepen and build on the conflict transformation work that is currently being led by faculty and staff throughout the greater Middlebury ecosystem.
