Dear
Friend
—
Last week at Colorado Lagoon, we opened the tenth new playground
built in Long Beach over the past four years through Measure A
Funding. This is a historic investment in our city’s parks
infrastructure, and it's been great to see kids and families enjoying
these great new playgrounds.
In addition to Colorado Lagoon, we've also unveiled new playgrounds
at:
- Jackson Park in April 2018,
- Los Cerritos Park in August 2018,
- Veterans Park in November 2018,
- Whaley Park in November 2018,
- Drake Park in January 2019,
- Martin Luther King Jr. Park in August 2019,
- Jenni Rivera Park in December 2019,
- Golden Grove in El Dorado Park in April 2021, and
- Cherry Park in July 2021
We know how important it is for our community to have access to
high-quality parks and open spaces so that kids can have places to
play in every neighborhood. That's why we're continuing to invest in
improving and expanding parks across the city.
Building 10 playgrounds in just 4 years is an incredible start to
these efforts through Measure A, and we're excited to continue this
work towards a greener, more accessible future for our open
spaces.
Thank you and Go Long
Beach,
Mayor Robert Garcia
