Ketanji Brown Jackson just made history as the first Black woman and the first public defender confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
I’m thrilled by this long-overdue milestone for the Court, and I look forward to everything Justice Jackson will surely accomplish for our democracy. From protecting reproductive healthcare to holding the January 6 rioters accountable, she will help rule on some of the most important issues our country is facing today.
Join me in congratulating Justice Jackson and showing our support for her confirmation by signing our digital card!
Like many of you, I was outraged by the questioning Jackson had to endure from GOP members of the Judiciary Committee during her confirmation hearing.
Her accomplishments and qualifications speak for themselves, and Republicans’ attempts to malign her character only prove that they care more about scoring partisan political points than they do about protecting our democracy.
But thanks to our Democratic majority in the Senate and the three GOP members who stepped up to make this a bipartisan confirmation, Justice Jackson will nevertheless take her rightful place on the Supreme Court.
Add your name to our card and congratulate her on making history!
Thank you,
Scott
