Hi ,

As you may have seen, Florida recently passed an extreme “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which forbids teachers from talking about LGBTQ+ issues or people and prevents them from providing a safe, inclusive classroom for all students.

Now, a version of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill has been introduced in the Ohio Statehouse. Let me be clear: this bill is disgusting, it legitimizes bigotry, and it has no place in Ohio.

This “Don’t Say Gay” bill is a prime example of the extremism that runs rampant in the Ohio legislature. As an elected representative in our statehouse, I believe that my job is to be focused on growing Ohio’s economy, supporting our working families, and creating a state that is inclusive for ALL Ohioans.

Meanwhile, the Republican supermajority is focused on pushing legislation that legitimizes bigotry and further divides us. We can’t do right by Ohio families if we don’t embrace diversity and make sure our state is inclusive.

We need to tamp down on this extremism, and the only way to do so is by breaking the Republican supermajority in the legislature. Will you chip in $25, $50, or $100 to help me as the Minority Leader elect more Democrats in 2022? ([link removed])

We are committed to electing leaders who will protect LGBTQ+ youth and fight to make our state safe for EVERY Ohioan.
I hope you’ll join our efforts by pitching in whatever you can. ([link removed])

Yours in solidarity,
Allison Russo
Ohio House Minority Leader
