Make your nomination via our online form by 5pm on Monday 11 April.
Residents must be aged 12 or over. The winning nominations will be chosen by a panel and bearers will be informed by Monday 25 April.

New Right Start and School Nursing Service has launched

A new partnership between Oldham Council and the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is now up and running, bringing high quality services for 0–19-year-olds across the borough.

This partnership arrangement has been put together to offer greater flexibility in offering support to families and children in Oldham. It means that some services formerly delivered by Bridgewater Community NHS Health Services have been brought back into our local health and care system to make them more effective.

The services that are now jointly run by these two organisations cover services for families, parents and parents to-be and children 0-19 such as:
* The Health Visiting Service who support new parents and children with home visits
* Children’s Centres
* Early learning development teams
* Early years SEND support, who help children and families with special educational needs get the right support
* The Family Nurse Partnership
* The School Nursing Service

The new partnership began on 1 April 2022 and It’s important to know that there will be no changes to how any of these services are delivered. This means if you use any of these services you can expect they will continue in a way you are familiar with.

5 – 11 year olds eligible for vaccine

The Royal Oldham now are offering Covid vaccine clinics every day for 5 – 11 year olds.

Appointments are bookable through the National Booking Service or by ringing the hub directly on 0161 627 8102.

Those who have recently recovered from Covid should still come forward for their vaccination, as having had the virus does not give the same levels of protection.

Anyone over 18 who has had Covid will need to wait four weeks before having any dose of the vaccine, or 12 weeks for those aged 12 to 17.

Update on the Covid-19 weekly data

In line with the government’s plans to live with Covid-19, Oldham no longer provides a universal free testing offer for asymptomatic and symptomatic cases.

This means we can no longer provide weekly data for Covid-19 infections, including the borough’s weekly case rate, number of cases identified, and a breakdown of cases by location, age and gender.

However, we are looking to provide a monthly update of the latest related figures for the borough so please continue to check this page for more information.
