John,
I’m writing to you today because things are getting tough at a critical time. Here’s the situation:
Our fundraising has decreased each month this year. That’s not a sustainable trend as we try to elect 5 more working-class progressives to Congress.
We operate on a pretty tight budget, especially compared to other political organizations. It’s because we run solely on donations from grassroots supporters like you. We don’t take a cent from corporate PACs.
Our average donation this year is just $17.51. We’re incredibly proud of that. It means we rely on a lot of small-dollar donations to fuel our primaries.
You may know by now, but we started Justice Democrats after many of us worked on the Bernie 2016 campaign. We were all inspired and determined to find a way to continue the message of Bernie’s campaign through electing a new Congress that truly represented the needs of the people.
That’s why we launched Justice Democrats and supported a lot of candidates in our first election year (2018). We lost a bunch of races, but then we won one big one: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s groundbreaking victory against the 4th most powerful Democrat in the House.
We recruited and elected Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman in 2020, defeating two more powerful corporate Democrats. This year we’ve already won our first race — Greg Casar in Texas. Now, we have 5 more Justice Democrats to elect so we can build the necessary support in Congress for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and so much more.
That’s why I’m asking, John: can you make your first donation to Justice Democrats today?
→ Yes, I can donate today to help build the Justice Democrats bloc in Congress.
I appreciate so, so much whatever you can give today, whether it’s $3, $27, $100 or anything at all. We will never take corporate PAC money and we will always rely on our grassroots movement.
In solidarity,
Alexandra Rojas, Executive Director
Justice Democrats
