It’s the end of National Library Week, friend – let’s give it up for our libraries and library workers.
Beyond curating books for all age groups and reading levels, librarians put together programs that teach folks how to cook, share stories, and navigate changing technology. Folks who work at the library do their best to make their communities a better and more inclusive place for all of us.
But Iowa Republicans don’t see it that way and want to punish teachers and librarians for doing their job and ban books they don’t agree with. Enough is enough, friend – will you sign this petition to stand up against banning books and jailing librarians? [[link removed]]

Libraries are a place to explore new ideas, to connect with people in your community, or even just to spend an afternoon when the weather is too cold or too hot.
Let’s protect our libraries and stand up against banning books!
– Team IDP
P.S. We’re huge readers here at the IDP. Here’s what folks around the office have been reading recently:
- Lauren is reading: “My Friend Anna: The True Story of a Fake Heiress” by Rachel Williams
- Sam is reading: “The Fire Next Time” by James Baldwin
- Taylor is reading: “Girly Drinks: A World History of Women and Alcohol” by Mallory O’Meara
We’re always looking for book recommendations so feel free to add your favorite banned book when you sign our petition. [[link removed]]
