No Matter Where Roe Goes, Abortion Stays: Regional Strategy Sessions Virtual – Throughout April and May 2022
No matter what happens to Roe, abortion is unstoppable. We’ve been gearing up for this moment and want to hear from you. Join us as we strategize and brainstorm tactics to spread the word about self-managed abortion with pills.
These small regional group strategy sessions will bring together engaged activists to discuss the future of abortion access in their region, develop new tactics to disseminate information about self-managed abortion, and build connections with one another. We plan to use developed tactics and materials to help support local direct action work this summer.
This month:
Northwest Strategy Session: Sunday, April 24 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. ET
Mid-Atlantic Strategy Session: Wednesday, April 27 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. ET
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for April:
Use vacation time! If you have a job that offers paid time off, take it. Now! Do something fun, frivolous, or relaxing. What are you waiting for? The work will be there for you when you get back. - Erin, executive director based in Washington, D.C.
Put on your favorite song and dance! I know I forget how powerful a good song and some hip shaking is to bring me back to my body. The world continues to throw new kinds of chaos our way every day, and as a fire sign, mindfulness and stretching practices are not my strong suit, but having a good time is! Just taking five minutes to listen to some good music and dance has been just as grounding as meditation for me, lately. Songs I have on repeat right now are: Alright by Kendrik Lamar, Keep Ya Head Up by 2Pac, and Be Alive by Beyonce. - Ten, campaign coordinator based in Greensboro, NC.
