** Congrats to Dr. Cory-Slechta!
------------------------------------------------------------
We are thrilled to share that Dr. Debbie Cory-Slechta is receiving a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award from the Susan B. Anthony Center! Dr. Cory-Slechta is a Professor of Environmental Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical School. Her research on the consequences of developmental exposures to environmental chemicals on brain development and behavior, particularly the effects of lead poisoning, made her an expert choice to lead the CDC committee that lowered the national blood lead level of concern from 10 ug/dL to 5 ug/dL in 2012. Congratulations, Dr. Cory-Slechta!

** Lead Free Kids NY
Virtual Advocacy Day
------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, May 10th, 9:30am-4pm
Our partners at Lead Free Kids NY, a statewide coalition working to end childhood lead exposure, are hosting another virtual lobby day to contact our state representatives and urge them to support legislation that focuses on preventing lead poisoning for the children of our state.
New York State has the most children with lead poisoning and some of the oldest housing stock in the country, much of which has lead paint that is the source of lead poisoning for many children in our area. Join us in advocating for New York State to lead the nation in lead poisoning prevention.
