Dear Friend,
As we prepare for Passover, our holiday of liberation, we also look to those whose freedom is in jeopardy. We are seeing democratic values, and even democracy itself, being tested. In Ukraine, we see imperialism rearing its head once more. In the US, voting rights are in peril, and the results of our elections are being challenged daily.
Meanwhile, in Israel-Palestine, we are of course deeply concerned about the Occupation, a concerning uptick in terror attacks in Israel, recent Palestinian deaths resulting from seemingly avoidable confrontations, settlement expansion, and home demolitions.
As Americans and as Jews, freedom and democracy are things we should not and cannot take for granted. It is incumbent upon us to make our voices heard and defend these values that are so dear to us.
To that end, we invite you to join us December 3-5 at J Street's 2022 National Conference: Living Our Values, Defending Democracy. Register by April 30 with the code "PASSOVER2022" for a 20% discount!
We are also pleased to share the J Street Haggadah with you. In it, we hope that you will find resources to help center the causes which are closest to the heart of our movement during your seders.
As we enter this season and begin reflecting upon the ideals of freedom, democracy, self-determination, and human dignity, may we recommit ourselves to defeating these injustices and finding the courage to stand up and speak out.
