Friend,

Wondering if any chocolate companies have made progress in the last year? Well, our allies recently surveyed and ranked the cocoa policies of over 30 companies around world.

They looked at key sustainability issues facing the chocolate industry, like child labor, deforestation, hazardous chemicals, and if farmers are being paid a living income.

It's no surprise which companies were at the top of the pack: Beyond Good, Tony's Chocolonely, and Alter Eco.

Despite some progress by big chocolate companies, they still don't compare to the excellent work of small, green businesses putting people and the planet first.

For years, Green Americans have kept the pressure on big chocolate companies, and our allies' work shows that some companies are investing more to address abuses in cocoa supply chains.

But child labor and deforestation are still rampant in the chocolate industry! So when purchasing chocolate this spring, please consider supporting chocolate companies that are reforming the way chocolate is made.

Thank you for all that you do,

Charlotte Tate

P.S. Your support means we can do even more to combat child labor and protect the future for people and the planet. Please contribute today.
