96 [link removed]  Lincoln Day Dinner Season is Here Chairman
Kyle Hupfer gives the keynote at the DeKalb County Lincoln Day Dinner
this past Tuesday in Auburn, Ind.
It's that time of the year again —
Lincoln Day Dinner season!

And this week, I was in Auburn, Ind., for
the DeKalb County Lincoln Day Dinner to give the keynote address. It was
a great night, one that was spent catching up with friends, making new
ones, and letting go of a brand new tie that I had just bought. I want
to extend my congratulations to Chairman Ring and the rest of the DeKalb
County Central Committee on hosting such a fantastic event at such a
unique location.

My message to the crowd of nearly 200 was simple:
Let's focus on real results and growth.

Remember: just 20 years ago,
the Indiana Republican Party was in the wilderness. Democrats controlled
the governor's office for years and had led our state into disarray. But
a group of focused and determined Republicans came together to help
change the direction of our state forever.

Since then, we have
continued to deliver for our state and Hoosiers have rewarded us by
overwhelmingly sending us back to office.

To build on this success,
we need to grow our party, not shrink it. We need to remember, as Ronald
Reagan put it, that, "The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the
time is a friend and an ally, not a 20 percent traitor."
If you're a
Republican and you believe in freedom and liberty, even if we disagree
on an issue, I still support and believe in you; you are a necessary
part of our Indiana Republican Party.

Let’s focus on real results and
growth and continue to lead Indiana and this country to its greatest
potential.

Enjoy this week's newsletter and share it with a friend.
Best,
Chairman Kyle Hupfer
  Governor Holcomb's Week That Was
Fostering Economic Development with Slovakia and Israel
Last Friday,
Governor Holcomb, Adjutant General R. Dale Lyles and Secretary of
Commerce Brad Chambers concluded an economic development trip to
Slovakia and Israel after meeting with government officials and business
leaders.

The week was spent cultivating new business relationships
and people-to-people ties in central Europe and the Middle East while
encouraging collaborative opportunities to advance innovation and
investment, bolster strategic relationships and offer humanitarian
support during a critical time for the geopolitical situation in the
region. “This trip was extremely productive in creating opportunities
for future Hoosier investment across Slovakia and Israel in a variety of
industries,” said Gov. Holcomb. “Throughout the week, Sec. Chambers,
Maj. Gen. Lyles and I were warmly greeted with open hospitality which
led to productive discussions, opportunities for academic exchanges,
mutual investment and cross partnerships."

Hoosiers Sen. Young, Sen. Braun a "No" on Ketanji Brown Jackson
Confirmation
On Thursday, in a 53-47 vote, the U.S. Senate confirmed
Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court — both Sen. Todd Young and
Sen. Mike Braun were a "No."

Last Friday, Sen. Todd Young released
the following statement:

“After carefully reviewing Judge Ketanji
Brown Jackson’s judicial record and statements, I will not be
supporting her nomination. The role of a Supreme Court justice is to
apply the law as written and uphold the Constitution, not legislate
from the bench. Both Judge Jackson’s record and testimony during her
confirmation hearings indicate that she does not adhere to originalism
as her guiding judicial philosophy.

“Every nominee to our nation’s
highest court deserves a thorough but fair vetting, which was not
afforded to President Trump’s Supreme Court nominees. Restoring
civility to the Supreme Court confirmation process is in our national
interest. It can help rebuild trust in both the Court and the Senate
itself.

“Throughout this process, I have taken my constitutional
responsibilities seriously by researching Judge Jackson’s record and
reviewing her testimony. I appreciated Judge Jackson taking time to
meet with me this week and respond to my questions, but I will be a no
vote when her nomination comes to the Senate floor.”

And on Tuesday,
Sen. Mike Braun released this statement:

“Today I met with Judge
Ketanji Brown Jackson to keep my promise to treat this nominee with
respect, and we had a good conversation. I previously voted against
Judge Jackson due to her activist judicial approach, and based on her
record on the federal bench and her answers on issues raised in the
committee hearings, I will vote against her nomination on that basis
again.”
Secretary of State Holli Sullivan Announces Doubling of
Post-Election Audits
Last Friday, Secretary of State Holli Sullivan
announced the state will double its number of post-election audits
following each general election.

“As the State’s Chief Elections
Officer, one of the most important responsibilities I have is to verify
that all Hoosier votes are accurately counted and that proper election
procedures are followed,” Secretary Sullivan said in a statement.
“Doubling the number of audits the state conducts is another vital step
to providing transparency to voters and increasing confidence in our
state’s electoral process.”
