John, have you seen the news?

Yesterday, Shannon called for an urgent climate debate between the Democratic candidates for Attorney General following the latest United Nations report that makes clear we need to take unprecedented action to combat climate change. Now.

Since then, Shannon’s call to action has made headlines — including Politico, MassLive, State House News, and the Boston Herald — and over 600 people have signed on to our petition in support of holding the debate.

It’s clear that we’re building momentum, and that Shannon is the leading climate candidate in this race.

If you haven’t signed on to our petition yet, will you add your name in support of a climate debate? [[link removed]]

We aren’t backing down, John.

Climate change is already having dire consequences for our state — from our air quality to housing, to transportation, and more. It has a disproportionate impact on our most vulnerable communities. Voters deserve to know how the candidates for Attorney General will use their position to take action on climate and protect the people they are elected to represent.

If you’ve already added your name in support, thank you! Please consider making a contribution to help power our movement forward to win this race. Shannon is the climate leader we need and deserve — she never backs down from a fight, no matter how difficult. [[link removed]]

In solidarity,
Team Shannon

P.S. If you have a moment, read Shannon’s original message below about the urgency of real climate action and why the Attorney General is an important part of that fight in Massachusetts.

John,

This week’s IPCC report paints another stark picture about the future of our climate. We have known for years that action is needed. The message is clear: we must move decisively and immediately to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.

The window of opportunity is not closed yet, but there is no time to waste.

We must use every possible avenue to tackle this crisis before it is too late — including using the full power of the Attorney General’s Office.

That’s why I am 100% committed to being the nation’s leading Attorney General when it comes to combating climate change and protecting our environment.

Today, I am calling for a climate debate among the Democratic candidates for Attorney General so that voters will know how we plan to fight for them when it comes to taking climate action.

If you agree that Massachusetts needs a climate-forward Attorney General, add your name to our petition and join me in calling for an urgent debate on climate action in the Attorney General race. [[link removed]]

Our current AG, Maura Healey, has done great work in taking Exxon to court for lying to the public about climate change for decades. I plan to build on her work and hold the fossil fuel industry accountable.

I’ve been taking on entire industries throughout my entire career — from big tech and the gig economy to Starbucks and other corporations.

I am the only candidate in this race with the experience to effectively take on the fossil fuel industry — and I’m ready to do it.

Will you join me in calling for an urgent debate on climate action in this race? The people of Massachusetts deserve to know how their next Attorney General will fight for them when it comes to climate change. [[link removed]]
