Hi John,
Last week, Labour rolled out extra support to ease the pressure on Kiwis, as overseas forces like supply chain issues and the war in Ukraine drive up the cost of living.
This package of support included:
- Increases to Working for Families
- A Superannuation boost
- The minimum wage increasing to $21.20 an hour
- Halving cost of public transport
- A $25 boost for student allowances, and more.
Overall, it will provide an income boost for more than one million New Zealanders.
While there’s no easy fix for the cost pressures currently facing Kiwis, we know these latest changes will make a difference.
We’d now love to show the real-life impact of this extra support by sharing stories from a range of Kiwis on social media and on our website.
If you’re among the 1.4 million people who are better off thanks to Labour’s 1 April changes, will you share your story? <[link removed]>
SHARE YOUR STORY <[link removed]>Since the day we came into Government, we’ve worked hard to lift wages and reduce cost pressures on Kiwis. Since 2017, we’ve introduced free lunches in schools, made doctor’s visits cheaper, lifted benefits, launched the Winter Energy Payment and more to make things easier for New Zealanders. Our latest changes, including our recent cut to fuel tax, build on this work, providing extra support for those who need it most.
There’s no silver bullet for the rising cost of living, but we know that, when taken together, these measures will help to ease the pressure on Kiwi families. They’re the latest move in our plan to ensure low and middle income New Zealanders aren’t left behind. If you’d like to help us show how this support is making a difference, share your story now. <[link removed]>
Thanks,
