Dear John,
Having worked in the United States Senate, then as a lobbyist, and now as MPAC’s Policy Director, I am often asked this question, “What is advocacy actually?”. Advocacy is the essential act of conveying to lawmakers the impacts of legislation on any given group— in the simplest terms, advocacy is how we prevent harm and improve the lives of American Muslims with those who make and implement the rules. And that is precisely what we do at MPAC.
Donate now to support our advocacy work in Washington D.C. in 2022.
Whether it’s reforming TSA policies, ensuring America leads the world in combating anti-Muslim sentiment, or addressing the threats of domestic terrorism, we are on the frontlines making sure our community’s needs and concerns are addressed.
Now, in the most polarized and divisive political landscape since the Civil War, we are transforming our advocacy to convene allies and coalitions to represent you to Congress as many times a year as there are members— we call it The 535 Project. It’s because of your support that our advocacy is possible.
In this month of spiritual growth and exponential reward, now is the time to invest in the next chapter of our multigenerational marathon for change. Can we count on you to support our work right now?
Yes, I will contribute right now to improve policies that impact American Muslims.
None of this is possible without your support. The only way we can continue our work— fighting discrimination, ensuring security, and empowering Muslims— is to raise $150,000 this Ramadan.
