John,
As each year passes, we are witnessing the heat rise, the storms worsen and a growing dependence on foreign fuels.
According to the recent IPCC report, the next few years are critical. Decades worth of unsustainable energy, land use, lifestyles and patterns of consumption and production have taken their toll. If we fail to act now, the effects of climate change will become irreversible.
Enough is enough — we can't wait any longer.
That is why later this month, we're calling for a nationwide mobilization to crank up the pressure and send President Biden, Congress, and lawmakers at all levels of government a message they can't ignore. John, will you join us at the upcoming Fight for our Future Rally in DC — the day after Earth Day! — and help send the message to lawmakers everywhere that enough is enough?
What: Fight for our Future Rally for climate, care, jobs and justice
When: Saturday, April 23, 1 - 3 pm ET
Where: Lafayette Square in front of the White House — 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20001
Millions of union clean energy and care jobs. Racial, economic, and environmental justice: This is the transformational vision that President Biden and Democrats were elected on, but special interests have continued to block progress against the will of the people.
The bottom line is we need comprehensive legislation like a Green New Deal to tackle the worst impacts of the climate crisis before it’s too late.
President Biden and Congress are finally on the cusp of taking climate action at the scale the crisis demands. It’s time for Congress and state legislatures to invest in an equitable transition to clean energy, made right here in America, and to invest in care jobs to preserve a livable planet and thriving, sustainable communities.
In solidarity,
Audrey
