![]() Team, Republican Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona just signed legislation requiring voters to prove their citizenship to vote in presidential elections. The new law also requires newly registered voters to provide proof of address. This is textbook voter suppression. By making it harder to prove that you have the right to vote, the GOP targets groups who will have the most difficulty proving they in fact have that right to vote.
Despite a Republican-led “review” of the 2020 election that found no evidence of widespread election fraud in Arizona, the GOP continues to react to Trump’s election lie by passing extremist voter suppression laws. Arizona, along with Georgia, Texas, and many other Republican-led states, is just another part of the GOP’s nationwide attack on Americans' right to vote.
