Friend-- Joni Ernst just voted to block the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women's Act (VAWA) that would have expanded protections for survivors, kept firearms away from perpetrators of domestic violence and prevented further heinous acts by abusers. She ran the bill by the NRA beforehand, and they wouldn't stand for the gun safety reform included in the legislation. Joni and the NRA should be ashamed for blocking a bill that protects women from violence -- but we know they aren't going to change. Not when the NRA has already invested $3.1 million in Joni. Eddie Mauro isn't taking a penny from the gun lobby. He'll support and pass VAWA and take on the NRA to get common-sense gun reforms like an assault weapons ban passed into law. But if he's going to defeat Joni, he needs supporters like you to stand with him. Chip in $10 or more right now and help Eddie win this battleground Senate seat. Joni has long proved to Iowans that she'll put the desires of special interests and big corporations before us. We need to act with urgency and fight back. Trump, McConnell, and the NRA will be fighting tooth and nail to hold Joni's seat and their majority in the Senate, and Iowans and survivors will continue to be put last if we don't take back it back. With your support, we can elect Eddie and flip the Senate back to a progressive majority. Can you chip in $5 or whatever you can now so we can replace Joni in 2020?
