It has been another busy week on the Learned for Florida Campaign! Here's our update from the trail:

๐Ÿ“ฐ Andrew is proud to announce the endorsements of the three county-wide County Commissioners, Pat Kemp, Mariella Smith, and Kimberly Overman! Flipping the county commission blue has resulted in a minimum wage increase to $15/hr for county employees, the strong backing of the Equal Rights Amendment from our commission, and immense increases in transportation and education investments. Imagine what we can do for Florida if we can get Tallahassee to stop fighting us and start working together! [[link removed]]

๐Ÿ“บ Undeniably, the topic dominating the news has been impeachment; Andrew was invited by WFLA to offer a local perspective on the coverage. The interview was simulcasted to 200+ NBC affiliates across the US and was a great moment for the campaign.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฟโ€๐Ÿญ Andrew joined Rep. Adam Hattersley, Rep. Dianne Hart, and State Senator Darryl Rouson for a townhall in support of minority-owned businesses. We chatted about the struggles of our minority/majority communities, the amazing grassroots work being done, and what else is needed to spur increased opportunities in our communities of color.

๐Ÿš— Andrew was out and about again this week, speaking at the Plant City Democratic Club and the Winter Haven Democratic Club and attending three other campaign kickoffs. Politics, Andrew always says, is a team sport and he's making the rounds to make sure quality candidates compete for every seat. Where we fight, we win!

๐Ÿฉบ Elections have consequences and, unfortunately, news came out this week that the cost of not expanding Medicaid here in Florida has been 2,776 lives lost. This has been Andrew's #1 issue for 2020. Expanding Medicaid would make healthcare more affordable for families earning less than $103k per year with dollars we currently send to other states because of Republican games in Tallahassee. For more information on this or other issues, check out AndrewLearned.com/Issues.

๐Ÿšด A bit about personal accomplishments this week too. If you know Andrew well, you know he's an avid cyclist and this week Andrew not only took 2nd place in a local Tampa race, but also completed the annual 100-mile Horrible Hundred in the Clermont, FL hills, in frigid weather, and with a time under five hours. he is still barely walking but we all know his never-quit spirit is exactly why we need Andrew in Tallahassee fighting for us!

๐Ÿ›‘ Lastly, another Republican jumped into the race. Frankly, let him. The more the merrier! The more the Republicans are divided, and we stay united, the better are our chances of getting Andrew into office and cementing this as a Democratic area before we go into redistricting.

Other than that, Andrew was busy canvassing ๐Ÿ‘ž this past weekend, making calls ๐Ÿ“ž, and laying the foundation ๐Ÿงฑ for a win here next November! You can help Andrew be successful by supporting his efforts with a small monthly contribution at the link below.
