Friends – History has just been made.
I could not have been more proud to be in the Senate chamber when Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.
We’ve known all along that she is eminently qualified for our nation’s highest court.
She’s served as an appellate and district court judge.
She's served on the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
She’s served as a private practice attorney and public defender.
And now I’m proud to be able to call her Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Her presence on the highest court cannot be understated.
We know that the Supreme Court has tremendous importance in weighing in on the essential issues facing Marylanders, including healthcare, voting rights, reproductive freedom, and gun safety. Having Justice Jackson’s voice on the bench is essential to ensuring everyone has a fair shot at success.
But we need to continue to break barriers and elect defenders of our civil rights, our constitution, and our democracy at all levels of government.
As Attorney General, I’d be honored to present Maryland’s cases before Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. But I need your help – can you chip in today to help advocate for our movement for progress? [[link removed]]

This is one of our greatest moments in history and a symbol of progress. Let’s keep it going, together.
