Team, a glass ceiling just broke.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was just confirmed by the Senate and will become the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States!
From Harvard, to clerking for Justice Breyer, to serving on the federal bench, Justice Jackson is one of the most qualified Americans to have the opportunity to serve on the nation’s highest court.
Throughout the confirmation process, Justice Jackson demonstrated confidence, brilliance, and presented a level of integrity that rose above and beyond political pressure to paint her as something she is not.
But perhaps more importantly, Justice Jackson’s historic appointment is an example to so many young Black Americans that anything is possible, and that no matter what anyone says to them about their dreams, always persevere.
We leave you with those words, and hope that like the rest of Team Plaskett today, you take a minute, reflect, and let no one take this joy from you.
