We watched in awe these past few weeks as Ketanji Brown Jackson moved through her Senate confirmation hearings with grace. She defended the Constitution with conviction and responded to even the most uncivilized questions with respect that they did not deserve. Ketanji Brown is beyond qualified to serve on the United States Supreme Court, and I am ecstatic she will be our next Supreme Court Justice.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson represents the very best our country has to offer, the manifestation of the American dream. Her parents were public school teachers who grew up during institutionalized segregation and they worked hard to give their daughter opportunities they were systematically denied. Today, Ketanji Brown Jackson stands before us an accomplished Judge and an avid defender of justice. She makes me proud to be an American.
This past year alone, we have seen the reproductive rights of millions of women instantaneously stripped away and witnessed relentless assaults on voting rights that threaten to take us back in time. One of the only viable tools against these affronts to Democracy is the United States Supreme Court. With Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on the bench, Democrats stand a chance of fighting back against conservative extremism. Her confirmation to the Court is a hope that all we hold dear will be saved
