This historic moment is a fulfillment of President Biden's promise to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court, and we are so proud of Cori's leadership through this process.
But the truth is this victory is just one step in the journey ahead of us to deliver racial equity. We need to elect more progressive, Black women to represent us in the halls of power. We need to pass more policies that address the systemic racism that persists in our government and public safety programs. And we need to make sure we keep leaders like Cori in office so she can continue legislating in defense of Black lives and leading the charge for meaningful change in Congress.
