Friend,
The Senate made history today. Democrats have voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. When Justice Jackson takes her place on the bench, she will be the first Black woman to serve on the highest court in the land. Throughout Judge Jackson’s confirmation process, the nation witnessed firsthand her powerful intellect and command of the law. Despite my Republican colleagues’ grotesque attempts to smear a trailblazing nominee, she shone.
|
Soon-to-be Justice Jackson was chosen through a fair and honest selection process, not plucked off a list drawn up by a dark-money group in the shadows like the Trump-era nominees. She will serve the American people with integrity on the Court. But let me be clear: A right-wing operation is still working to influence the Supreme Court, and even with Justice Jackson, a 6-3 conservative majority will remain.
|
We've seen a dark money group run ads falsely claiming that dark money influenced this nomination – and we heard that claim parroted by Republicans in the confirmation hearings. Ironic, isn't it, when hundreds of millions of dollars in right-wing dark money built today's conservative Supreme Court majority?
I've been fighting not only to make sure Judge Jackson would be rightfully confirmed, but also to end dark money's influence on our democracy. I'm depending on your grassroots support to continue this work.
|
So please, I'm personally asking you: Will you make a contribution of $5 or more to my campaign right now to help me defend the Senate – and with it, the future of the Supreme Court?

I appreciate you stepping up in this historic moment. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sheldon Whitehouse
