House Republicans in Ohio introduced a bill on Monday that was heavily inspired by Florida's new "Don't Say Gay" law.

This divisive copy-cat bill, sponsored by Representatives Mike Loychik and Jean Schmidt, would also target what Republicans have deemed "divisive education" about race.

But let's make one thing clear: This bill is about being as anti-democratic as possible and directly targeting Ohio's LGBTQ+ youth. Fear-mongering representatives want to divide and distract Ohioans from their ongoing misdeeds by trying to enact alienating legislation, and we can't let them get away with it.

If it becomes law, this legislation will also allow parents to file official complaints against educators who are just trying to do their job, resulting in Ohio teachers losing their employment and even their license to teach. We cannot let this happen.
