Across the country, far-right politicians are destroying women’s reproductive freedoms that are enshrined in our constitution. 

First it was Texas, then Missouri, and then Idaho. But this week, news broke that the Republican-led Oklahoma state House PASSED a near-total ban on abortions. Under this bill, anyone who performs an abortion would face up to 10 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.

Friend, I need you to know where I stand on this issue. 

As a mother and public health expert, I’m a firm believer that all women deserve the right to a safe, legal abortion. As a Montanan, I stand by our state’s proud history of supporting the right to privacy. We respect freedom and privacy. It’s in our bones, it’s our way of life, and legislation like this directly attacks a woman’s right to privacy.

I think it's shameful that today's GOP legislatures would both undercut policies like paid family leave and comprehensive reproductive care, while still pushing forced pregnancy and birth. It’s hypocritical and we deserve better. 

If elected, I’d be the only pro-choice woman representing Montana at the federal level. And you can bet I'll do everything in my power to defend a woman's right to choose and receive access to quality health care.
