Hello,
Today, the Senate voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. She’ll be the first Black woman and first former federal public defender to serve on our nation’s highest court, making this a historic moment for the Court and for our country.
But this moment would not have happened if Republicans controlled the Senate. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said this week that a GOP-controlled Senate wouldn’t have even given her a hearing, and certainly not a vote.
That’s why we can’t afford to lose this seat. The standard democratic processes that we rely on—like the Senate holding hearings for and confirming qualified Supreme Court Justices—could be a thing of the past if Mitch McConnell becomes Majority Leader again.

The Court is taking on monumental issues right now: abortion, voting rights, immigration, our ability to tackle climate change—you name it. That means we have to win here in Vermont—and with a Trump appointee in the race, who was hand-picked by the same national Republicans who want to block the president from filling seats on the Supreme Court, we have no time to lose.

Thank you,
