Hello Team,
Yesterday, Senator Ed Markey and I confronted senior leadership at the United States Postal Service about corrupt Postmaster Louis DeJoy's short-sighted plan to purchase a new, gas-guzzling USPS fleet. I have been saying it for years, and President Biden has made it abundantly clear: our government should be at the cutting edge of fighting climate change with green technology. I believe that means the USPS should invest in an electric postal fleet! What do you think?
Trump-crony DeJoy, who was exposed once again this week for investments that are clear conflicts of interest, has no interest in acting on climate change or fighting for what is best for USPS. I do - that's why my Green Postal Service Fleet Act guarantees that the next set of postal vehicles is at least 75% electric. We already have 66 co-sponsors, but we need your support to keep an electric USPS a top priority and get it passed into law. In my opinion it is common-sense that the massive, billion-dollar, decade-long investment in a new fleet should be made with the future health of our planet, people, and postal workers in mind.
I want to know what you think - should I keep pushing for an electric postal fleet?
The US Postal Service is one of the most popular government services across the country, upholding the promise of delivering mail to everyone, anywhere in the country since the founding of our nation. If we are to guarantee the future of the USPS and the indispensable services it provides, from delivering checks to medicine to birthday cards, I believe we need to make sure our future postal fleet is electric!
Your support is essential to a long, clean, green future for USPS - so please donate what you can.
Thank you. Always in your service,
