Friend -- this is a historic day: The Senate just confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court!

After more than 200 years, a Black woman will finally sit on the highest court in the land. So many Americans have waited for this day for generations, and I have no doubt in my mind that Justice Jackson will be a shining role model and pave the way for others in the future.

But if it were up to the Republicans, Ketanji Brown Jackson would not be on the Supreme Court. She wouldn't have even gotten a hearing.

And Mitch McConnell's already said if Republicans take back the Senate in November, they'd block President Biden from filling a vacant Supreme Court seat in 2024.

We were able to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson today because Democrats took back the Senate in 2020. And the GOP's opposition makes it clearer than ever: we can't afford to lose our majority in November.
