OCA Applauds Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court
The Senate voted Thursday to confirm Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court, shattering a historic barrier.
Washington, D.C. — OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates’ Executive Director Thu Nguyen released the following statement after the U.S. Senate confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court:

“As we strive to create a more perfect Union, our judicial system must reflect the diversity and lived experiences of the people it serves. No legal institution is more important than the Supreme Court, and the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a long-overdue step to restore trust and build a government that truly looks like America. Judge Jackson’s extensive legal career, record of integrity, and experience as a public defender have earned her bipartisan praise, and we trust that she will uphold the Constitution and address the civil rights challenges we face today.”
